You will be happy to know that Dr. Ashis Roy has successfully run the Mumbai marathon on 20th January 2013 and this has been his second full marathon one year after my Spinal Surgery. If you already didn’t know, one year back Dr. Roy had six nails fixed in his last two vertebrae.

Now he has become the first Indian above 80 years to complete a full marathon and his total number of marathon becomes 115 which is also an Indian Record.

He was accompanied by a runner friend of Mumbai named Mumtaz, who not only helped him with fluids at regular interval during the marathon but also encouraged all through the race. It took longer time to finish as there was no traffic control during last 10 Km stretch and they had to cross very big traffic crossings with great risks to their lives. At finish line the officials presented Dr. Roy the Finishers Medal.
